1. A Halloween theme party can mean many things to different people, so you have to narrow it down into a sub-theme to be more specific.
2. A very early decision you need to make is exactly what sub-theme you are going to be taking. Is your party going to be about historical figures, movie stars or the more traditional monsters, demons and witches.
3. Send out your invitations on a cut out monster, witches hat or pumpkin. State clearly on your invitations that anybody who doesn't dress up will be charged on the door!
4. As far as your costume goes, Im sure you haven't missed all the possibilities while you were out shopping. Some classic costumes include; Frankenstein, Dracula, Freddy Kruger, Zombies, Cats, Witches and Demons.
5. Make some pumpkin lanterns to line the path leading up to your house. You can hang them on the trees or place them on the path.
6. Replace all of your light bulbs with either red or green ones to add to the atmosphere, making it eerie. Also place plenty of candles around the room.
7. Get some models or figures of gargoyles, witches, ghosts, demons, vampires, mummies, cats and wear wolves to spread around your venue. Also get some body parts and fake blood to keep all of your guests on edge.
8. For your music, you could play; People are Strange, Monster Mash, Thriller, Beetlejuice, Wear wolves of London and Ghostbusters.
9. No Halloween theme party would be complete without sweets. Make sure you stock up with plenty of them!
10. Bake a monster themed cake and decorate with witches or vampires. Top off with an edible spider. Get some monster shaped cookie cutters for your cookies and decorate in a similar way.
