Many see writing articles as a nuisance. I happen to disagree with this belief. I think that article writing can be one of the most fun and rewarding activities there is.

Some people simply don't know what to write about and their mind draws a blank when they're called to the task. I know the frustrations about this, but there are ways around it.

Here are five tips that I'd like to share with you, all of which should aid you in your article writing efforts, regardless of your motivation.

One thing that makes the job easier to do is to create lists, just like the one I'm creating now. Lists give you the equivalent of an outline, as you'll know exactly what the article will consist of before it's done. I've always found this to be useful.

If you don't like the idea of writing lists, or simply prefer another means as well, tell stories. Everyone has their own experiences to draw from, and personalizing an article in this regard will allow you to connect with your readers.

You can also challenge yourself to write your articles within a certain time frame. If I sit down, I'll usually give myself something like two hours, where I know that those two hours will purely be devoted to article writing. Set a goal and do everything you can to hit that goal within the span.

I like to treat myself to little rewards when I'm done writing for the day. If I know that I have to write five articles in one sitting, I'll take myself out for ice cream when I'm done, or I'll take a break from my work to watch my favorite TV show.

My last suggestion may sound a little unconventional, but I can assure you that it's had a major impact on my output levels. Work on your typing speeds, as faster typing will allow you to do more work in less time.
